Other minerals
Here are the minerals without a section of their own: potassium, iodine, chromium, copper, selenium, molybdenum, boron and others. They differ in the compound (citrate, bisglycinate, picolinate) and the amount per daily dose.
Many minerals have EU-authorised claims — iodine about normal thyroid function, chromium about the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels — shown on a product when its dose meets the condition. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose, especially of iodine and selenium.
FAQ
How do the forms of a mineral differ?
The form decides how much of the mineral itself a gram of the compound holds and how the tablet sits with the stomach. Compare the elemental amount.
Can minerals be taken together?
Yes, but large doses of iron, zinc and calcium are better taken at different times.
Why be careful with iodine and selenium?
Their upper limits are low; if you also take a multivitamin, add the amounts up.
